New York new guy

New to C-C , but not Mopars  I bought my 70 Challenger 440 Sixpack in 1980 ran it hard on the street for a few years then life and priorties slowed everything to a complete stop.  I parked the car in 1990 and have not done anything with it (no funds),,,,,,,, anyway thats all behind me I think so I pulled the car out 2 weeks ago , front wheels were locked fuel lines rotted, all 4 tires have flat spots with dry rot , pumped out 2 gallons of old nasty gas, opened up one carb and found it to be very clean, drained the oil added new and primed the pump, bought new battery and hit the key and after a bit of cranking it fired right up after a solid 16 years of sitting   :cooldancing: :cooldancing:,,,,,,,,,,,, man that made me happy just hearing it run again so I tried to drive it but found that the clutch disk was rusted to the flywheel so I could not engauge the tranny,,,,,,,,,,  I was bummin at that point so I posted here at C-C and broke it loose after bumping the starter with tranny in gear and with that I was in the drive way doing some serious tire burning :cooldancing: :woohoo:,,,,,,,,, any I was having fun agian but the power steering hose was dry rotted and busted and put an end to my burn out show,,,,,,,,,,, But the good news is that the old Mopar is running again  I got plans to put stock manifolds and manual steering on and then take it up to Lebanon Valley Drag for some serious thrashing :droolingbounce:, can't wait...........  Heres some new pic's right after I pulled it out after a 16 year nap................

Welcome to the site!  That's awesome the car is up and running again after a sixteen year hiatus.  You definitely have a vintage paint job on that and I think it looks pretty cool that way.  I bet that 440-6 put a smile back on your face when it started up again. :grinyes:

  Glad you found us and joined up.  It's great to see that you kept your car all those years and had only a few minor problems.  I like your traction bars and hood...and the stripe is cool too!

Thanks everyone for the big welcome  ,,,,,,, I am totally stoked just being here and having the car actually run again :bananasmi......  I also like the words on the paint and traction bars cause I like them too and now that a lot of years (28 years :eek7:) have passed its kinda neat to be recognized as an 80's or Old School look,,,,,,,,,  when the car eventually gets paint it will be the same as it now appears but that is way way in the future for now I just want to make it run real sweet I am looking forward to advice on the Sixpack cause they are leaking down so a rebuild is needed and also back in the day I never did get the car to run really good with the Sixpack it had lots of bog just before it would take off , I also ran a stock iron 4 bbl manifold with Holley and carb adapter and it was real nice with that set up and also I ran a Torker single plane with a big Holley and man that was the combo super responsive  so what I am hoping for is to get the SixPack to perform like the  Torker set up did or simalar.....

Original paint was Go Mango with longitudal stripe it has a Burnt Orange interior also,  I like the Go Mango paint but still the repaint will be the black w/strip and a flat black T/A hood......
