Help Deciphering Fender Tag
« on: March 18, 2004 - 05:08:54 PM »
Our fender tag is very, very rusty and a portion of the top left corner is gone.  The tag looks better in this picture than with the naked eye.  We were able to get it this legible using special lighting and photography.  Can anyone tell me what would have/should have gone in the missing corner?  I have half of a build sheet (the part the squirrels didn't eat) as shown in the url if that helps.

G35!!  :D Delete Standard Outside Mirror! 1969-71  ;D

Trying heaps of different views in photo editor, I was thinking it's a 3?!?!? Then I thought the bottom of the 3 wasn't quite like the other 3's you can kind of see it and the gap towards the top left has chipped away where the g shape would really take shape.

The always go alphabetically. So the progression must be C D E F G from the last code listed.

I think it looks like G34 which is lt outside remote mirror, painted racing.

My 2¢ :)

I don't think it will be 4 look at the bottom of the digit it's got the same curve as the 5's, the 4 would have a single line this digit has curve at the bottom.

Cool!  Thanks LB!  We do have a 26" radiator....Is that where they usually put the radiator size?  Now for the one right below it...I'm going to have to get this to Galen to make another tag.

NZ... there were 3 different END codes... END, EN1 EN2... I don't know why, or how they determined using which one where... ::)

And that G code that we're trying to figure out... it's G5-... if you've got a white decoding book from Galen, start flipping through the G5- codes... see what you have and compare... ;) ;) But that's definatly NOT a 3...

I've been trying to figure out which G thing you guys are talking about.  The one I really need help with is the one right below the left top rivet hole.  If you see any you think we've misread...let us know.

That's the one... it's right below the screw hole... it's G5- something... can't read the last one... I put your close-up image on my screen then stepped away to look at it... it's definatly G5-... just gotta figure out that last digit... ;)
