Feebay is in the toilet, but what other venue do we have to sell parts nationwide/ worldwide?? Feebay knows this and takes full advantage.

Sadly that's true. I see no alternative. Have you sold things thru Craigslist? Holy cow that creeps you meet that way.     I mean, you better be watchin' who you are inviting to your home.

I got mine resolved and still lost.  I was able to give the buyer a partial refund.  The buyer got his part for $8. I now have my Paypal tied to a bank account that has $5 in it.  From now on I will remove everything from my Paypal account asap.  I will still sell a few things on Ebay with the knowledge that if it happens again, I am going to let the Paypal account sit in the negative.  I will be done with Ebay.  I agree on the Craiglist.  You can meet some strange ones. The fear of theft and scamming are ruining the parts exchange part of this hobby.

I dont like paypal for sure.  I get e-mail scams from them all the time.  I do not trust them in the least bit.

Well, I thought everything was straight on my Paypal account.  I let them do a partial funds reversal.  First off they did it twice.  Yes, they refunded the guy twice.  Then I noticed other charges (fees).  When the hold for the reversal came in I was charged a fee as if it was income to the account.  Then I was charged a fee when the reversal was done.  This is as bad as being taxed on every move by the Government. What a disaster.  If they don't correct it the account can sit in the red forever.

I feel for you.  Ebay and Paypal are a total scam.  When I was ripped off by someone on this site (no longer active so don't ask) Paypal admitted I was due a refund but said they couldn't do anything because he had no money in his account.

But I asked, "Isn't this why you charge 3% on every transaction?  I paid for a service and you should make it good"

The only reply was, sorry we are unable to retrieve funds.  I then asked if the debt follows the person, no dice.  So the moral of the story is as you stated.  Keep minimal funds in your account.  Just open another if needed.

 just spent most of the time since my last post on the phone with them.  My account is back to normal.  I did learn a lot.  One thing I did not know is that if you as a seller ship a part and it is damaged a buyer can go back on you because the part is not as it was listed.  Your recourse as a seller is to have insurance to reimburse you if Paypal refunds the auction.  For seller protection you Must have delivery confirmation if under $250.  This I do.  You must have insurance if over $250. This I will no longer let the buyer choose if they want insurance or not.  They will have to have it. Many of you probably know these things and more.  I just posted it in the event that someone does not.  I did not know about the damaged part in shipping that allows the auction to be reversed because the part is "significantly different" to put it in their words.

It's been a year since I told PayPal to stuff it.  Haven't heard a peep from them.  SO:

I'm out no money,  the guy in PR has a free DJ outfit, Paypal is out over 100 bucks.  My credit is the same as it was before all this.  The current administration is ruining the economy.
