rear end width

does anyone know what the width of a stock rear end is?  i measured from the face of where the brakes would mont to.  the one i have is 61 3/8" wide,,,it seems pretty wide.  it is a strange engineering dana 60.

My stock Dana looks to be about 61 5/8"

I thought backing plate to backing plate was around 56.5  and tracking was around 61. I will go check and see

61 5/8ths is right

what do you mean by flange?  after hearing 61 5/8" it is that rather than 3/8" like i had said.  Or where is the propper place to measure from for the width?  I really appreciate the help!

61 5/8ths is from where the lugnuts are on both sides, or rather drum to drum. The flange is what the drum bolts to, which is 65.5    Did you follow the link?
