Does anybody have a wireless internet card?

Hey guys,

So, my new job is pretty sweet and all, except that we earn NO vacation time at all, ever, period.

So the 2 days I'm going to miss at Carlisle is simply money out of my pocket, plus I want to SPEND some money AT Carlisle...  Just missing work is going to cost me nearly $300 dollars!

But if I could get my hands on a wireless internet card for just an hour or two, I can log some time in the network and earn some money while I'm sitting at the fairgrounds.  I have a company laptop and SecureID access chip - all I need is the internet.

If anyone has one that they can bring and I can just borrow a bit - I'll reimburse your minutes.  (I really have no idea how much they cost to use.)

Anyone?

Just a suggestion....Get a hotel room with I-net access and get away for a little and log in that way. Unless you are driving in......OR use Google to find a Free Wi-fi area near by like Starbucks or something and log in that way if your lap top has wireless....

Silly man - I LIVE 20 minutes from Carlisle.  I could just go HOME and do what I need to do.  But I get to the show at the crack of dawn so I get a good spot, and after the show I like to go to the club hotel, sit in the lot and have a few beers with my CC.C friends, which often goes late into the night.  Last year I was only home for about 8 hours each day - enough to sleep, grab a bite to eat, and hit the road again.

So I'm looking for someone with an internet card so that I can do "work" while I'm sitting out at the fairgrounds soaking in the sun.

I got verizon wireless internet. Anytime anywhere as much usage as I want (unlimited) and 49 a month.   Oh and money isnt everything. You said you had an excellent job now.  I'm loosing 1k this week leaving this job early. I hope I can get to the show. If so, you can use mine

  Our official Hotel has free wireless Internet. Maybe you can sit in the lobby all day while the rest of us enjoy the car show. 

My point?  You need to separate work from fun. Forget about work for a while. It will be there when you get back... trust me.

I'll have a laptop at the hotel but it needs a local wireless network like the one the hotel has.

You're such a PITA... 

Believe me, I know all about skipping work for play.  But think about it - I can sit around under the tent, sipping a beer, click some buttons for an hour or two, and recoup a few hundred bucks!

I have to wonder if the fairgrounds will have Wi-Fi I could tap into, but I'm sure I'd have to pay out the buttocks for it...  If nothing else, I can tap into the hotel network while I'm out there eating pizza/drinking beer...

It's not a BIG deal - just that if I can make a few dollars while I'm having fun, why not?  I'm not one of those old fuddy-duds that have to SLEEP during the show.
