EvilTwin - Sorry, I just don't like green that much.  The only green I kind of like is sublime and, frankly, to me these cars are too big for even that color.

Well, been doing some more body work and I got a little impatient and sprayed some paint on the deck lid to see how it would look with some paint I have already on the shelf.  The color is a custom blend that I made up for my Ram Charger.  I ended up choosing that for the simple reason that I have enough to do the car and it's already paid for.  I've got plenty of base coat leftover from when I painted the truck and I also have plenty of clear.  Hopefully, my zero dollar paint investment won't hurt the overall ROI but I think the color wll look darn good on the car.  What do you guys (and gals) think?

I am going to have to take a break from working on her now for a few weeks while we pack up the house and shop and get ready to move.  We are closing on our sale 2 weeks from today  :22yikes:  I've got to talk to my wife but I think I am going to take a few dollars from the sale of the house and put it into this car in order to more or less complete it instead of selling as a major/partial project.  I think what I am going to do it redo the interior and try and sell it with the paint and interior done so that people can do what they want as far as power train goes.

Another pic of the deck lid plus my Ram Charger before & after just to give you an idea how the color looks on a vehicle.

Hey Gary,

Good idea using up what you already have bud.................  I would suggest using White decals on that color to make it look brighter.  If you use Black decals it would make the Blue look real dirty, do you know what i mean, some colors are effected by different shades of color.   And are you replacing the vinyl half roof :dunno:

Ken,

Exactly what I thought too.  I plan on doing the interior white and installing the white canopy vinyl as well.  I think I am also going to look for a Road Runner hood.  If I can pick one up cheap enough, I think that will really help the car's overall value greatly.  I'll probably put the tank tracks on the fenders and a white roof strobe as well. I think the car will look really "clean" then.

Thanks for asking.  Moved last week - it sucked. The temp on moving day was only 104.   Still unpacking boxes.  Cars are both burried with boxes in the new shop.  I hope to be able to start working on the Satellite in about 2 weeks, once we unpack all of the boxes at the house and I can build some shelving in the new shop.

Thanks for the bump.  I haven't had a chance to do much on the car in the past two months.  First month was spent unpacking the house from the move.  Then, I had to build a small office in my shop to allow me to make signs & stripe kits plus I had to build some shelving & stuff to store all of my spare junk.    I did the first work on the car just this past Saturday.  I had to "build" a Road Runner hood for it.  I picked up a hood that had a severely rusted underside and had to pull the skin off of it and weld the underside onto it from the original hood from the project car.  Did not have my camera but I will be sure and take some pics of the remnants of the old underside toinght or tomorrow when I get back onto it.

Exactly.  I have a few spots that I know I need to work on and having the guide coat makes it a whole lot easier.  I plan on finishing the hood tonight or tomorrow and then will probably pull the engine and trans to work on the engine compartment.  Once that is done, I'll finish off the body work in order to shoot the jambs, underside of the hood,  and engine compartment all at the same time.  Then I will re-install the hood and shot the rest of the car.  Hopefully, I'll have it in paint in about 2 weeks (which means it'll probably be in about a month).

Update - I finished fixing up the RR hood that I recently picked up.  Also pulled the engine & trans out the other night.  Planning on knocking out the body work shortly.  I will post pictures soon..
