Okay, I've actually decided to start working on the next car. It is another 72 Satellite that I actually bought in a package deal with the other one I just finished. This one was supposed to be a parts car for the car I had before that. Now, I am glad I did not use it as parts. Turns out it is on e of the first 1972 Satellites built. It's VIN is 206 and the Scheduled Production Date is July 14th, 1971. Other than that it is nothing really special. The body is fairly rust free. I've had to weld in a passenger lower quarter patch and there is a bunch of dings and such but overall it is very solid. I initially thought I'd put it up for sale as is but then I decided to repair the beat up driver fender and that lead to me working on the rocker panel and that lead to me working on the quarter panel. Well, you get the picture.
I've decided to at least finish the body work before I try and sell it although I may go ahead and paint it. I am really torn on what color to paint it. Part of me thinks because of it's "uniqueness" of being on e of the first for that model year, I should paiknt it the original GY8 Gold. THen, part of me thinks for maximum ROI, I should paint it another color and give it a "clone" look. You know the usual colors, Resale Red, Yellow, or maybe even a shade of Blue like B5. Then, Plum Crazy pops into my head too.
Maybe I should post a poll...
ANyways, the car is a 318, auto ,bench seat, a/c car that was originally GY8 with a black canopy vinyl and a gold interior.
Here's some pics before I started on it the other day. I'll post more later tonight.
