Edelbrock sells a bracket for their carbs for the Mopar kickdown linkage. Here it is on Summit's website

70 Challenger RT 440 Edl. 800cfm. ---Can anyone describe to me how to set up the kickdown linkage?   The yellow bible is confusing to me.  I get that you want the tranny lever at the forward stop but from there I dont get it.  Do I adjust the slotted piece that connects to the carb so it just rests at the post in the rear or front of slot.  Do I do wot ant then adjust from there?  Any help or pics would be great.  John

you want the kickdown linkage to move all the way back with the carb @ WOT , you need a spring on the kickdown to pull it forward at idle

Thanks Chryco,

I have that spring but not pictured.  I have all the pieces except for the rod-to-lever clip for the transmission lever.  NAPA has an aftermarket one but only as big as 1/4 and that rod is larger than that.  Do you have a solution?

Someone in my restroation thread said I can zip strip it rearward temporarily so I can drive.  Do you agree?

as long as the rod stays in the lever yes I agree , not sure where to find the clip you need though

Here is the mount on my 440. It came from a 71 imperial, but works fine. The bracket is held down by the intake bolt in  the pic. Kinda small pic; should be able to figure it out.

Thanks for the pic MikeRalleye.  The part I was referring to is down at the transmission.  I just put a jam nut on the tip of the rod to keep it there.  But mopar had a more substantive bracket.    Now I am trying to adjust the position of the kickdown.  I put the back end (toward firewall) of the lever at the stop at WOT.  It is beginning to shift now so that is better than starting out in third but it shifts into third at about 20mph.  Do I need to move it more forward or rearward?  Thanks  Skid
