OOTB quality on MP/Edelbrock "452" heads - any good??
« on: July 01, 2008 - 12:37:01 PM »
Hey all, I'm thinkin' about picking a set of these (MP #P5153524) up through Mancini or Westoaks, and I was just wondering for those that have run these out of the box, how they performed? I thought about having them go through MCH or someone just to touch up the valve/seat job & maybe a basic port job, but I dunno if that's neccessary?? The motor is a stout street/strip 440 and I'm looking for a head that can support roughly 550hp and fit w/ hooker headers in an E body. I know MCH/Mancini has the cnc program that flows over 300cfm @.500, but I wonder if that might be more than I need since I'm not running a 500" roller motor? Any thoughts/opinions??? Thanx everyone!
