Carlwalski,
Im a fan of bigger tires too, unfortunaetly its hard to get both so I decided that what I loose in height, Ill make up for in width :burnout: :ylsuper:

But you end up losing more traction with less profile. :-[ Width is good but wall is greater. Anyhow, I'm not here to rain on your parade, far from it, looks killer and as long as you are happy, it's all that counts. The rear end shot truly does look amazing.

Hey, wait a minute. I think you guys are assuming all straightline traction. There is grip left and right as well. On the street give me left and right traction, at the dragstrip I want it wheels up straight line. It is two different styles and I like them both equally.

Exactly. Tall sidewalls are great for absorbing huge torque loads, like a drag launch. But tires generate force in all directions and what you gain in launch capability with the taller sidewall is proportionate to what you can loose in lateral loading.

Looks awesome!!!  Great job.

Besides, if you want straight line traction at a dragstrip, you're going to need drag radials anyway.  Street tires are pretty much worthless on a dragstrip.

I agree but we're on a pony/muscle car forum here, the majority is all straight line. Any high hp car with 35s is like a drunk on ice, no traction (no tire give). A Challenger with low profiles and a moderate suspension set up will still get lost trying to keep up with a Honda Vtec around bends, sad but in 90% (+) of cases the truth, whether you choose to believe it or turn a blind eye out of love for thy Mopar. Straight line is what these cars were made for. Again, not dissing it, just stating traction will suffer. Both good in their own environment.
