Ok, I'm going to be crazy and am thinking of coming to this now from South Carolina in my 70 Chally.I havent booked a motel or anything yet and I have a business dinner with my boss around here on friday night so I have to either set off late from here on Friday or go early on Saturday.I'm worried because my car knocks at low speed and low load under hard acceleration on 93 octane (I usually use leaded racing gas) and because I've ordered a new Becool fabricated radiator but it hasnt come yet.In the past the car ran to about 260 deg F. I've got a coolant wetter as an interim measure and it reachs about 230 deg F under load at around 60 mph now. It's running a 3.91 rear end with torque flight- anyone think thats too busy for long distances - will it strain the engine unneccessarily?But- I REALLY want to go and hang with the Mopar lot-even though its 500 miles odd.PS: please let me know if any rooms become available.Cheers
I appreciate your enthusiasm, but if you have heating problems and a 3:91 rear. I would NEVER attempt such a trip. I won't be making it this year, but even with 3:23's I would be pushing around 3000 RPM to get there(65-70MPH). Mike
