XV motorsport electric windows - having major problems (pics added)

Have any of you installed the electric window kit from XV motorsport? I am have problems with it. They mounted in the upper set of holes fine but will not align with the horizontial track. The one end will slide on but the end that has to screw into the clip is about 3 inches to high and there is nowhere near enough adjustment in the door to get close. As if that were not enough, one of the tabs on the regulator arm broke off. It was clearly defective from the factory as the bolt was only about 1/2 solid. It appears that if the regulator were monted in the lower set of holes that it might work but then the motor hits the bottom of the door. If any of you have a solution to this problem, please let me know. The 1/4 windows work fine but for $1000 I expect a lot less trouble than this. Help

Here are some pictures to help understnd the problem that I am having. Youi can see the regulator will fit in the upper set of holes but then the horizontal bar is at the wrong angle, the lower poition (marked with the stickers in the last picture) appear to work bu tthe motor will hit the bottom of the door before you can get the holes to line up. Am I doing something wrong???

I've (and several others) have asked questions directly to DQHemi on this site, even simple ones but he still fails to answer them and I have seen him read the posts. You will probably need to contact them to get the answers and possible the refund you deserve or replacement part(s). But, talk to Scott though.

yup me too - they are bolt in but did take some adjusting.

try rotating the regulator arm 180* , 1 tab fits into the slide plate at the rear of the door , the other end fits into the slide on the window

What switch kit did you use?  71 Challenger? Front and back?  No problems?  My driver side window regulator is shot and I'm thinking of going this route.

I used the front window kit only cause I never use the rear windows and nobody ever sits in the rear seat. I pirated some window switches from a wrecked 90's Impala cop car and wired them myself instead of buying the expensive kit they sell. They work real nice.

Mine work just fine after a few years of use. They go up as fast as they go down. I doubt that there's any product sold on the market that somebody can't find a way to install wrong and have problems with, and it's always the fault of the manufacturer. If they're good enough for Boyd Coddington they're good enough for me.

I noticed the same thing. I'll ask him a question on HIS post and will skip/ignore my post and questions. not only once but twice. I am getting a really bad vibe from that company. Seems like they only cater to the "high" end group. "we" just fill in the other orders they need to get a production run going.

I've even sent a PM to him, received a receipt that he has read it and still not replied to....

I spoke with someone at XV this morning and they are going to try to help me figure it out but he said that they have heard that the rear track on a Cuda might be in a different position than on a Challenger and they have never installed these on a Cuda. I guess anything is possible but I find it hard to believe that the window mechanisms could be different for these cars. I told him I would send some pictures and we will see where this goes. Anyone ever seen a difference in Challys vs Cuda when it comes to the side glass???

I didnt install my kit wrong. With no fuzzies or anything to hinder movement it struggled to raise the window. They go down 3 times faster than they go up. You are the first person I have heard of that has the same rate of ascent vs. descent. You must have ether gotten lucky or its possible that the window is binding on the way down?

I was curious so I just went and tried them. They do go up a bit slower than they go down, but I guess that's to be expected because going down they have the weight of the window assisting the decent. It really was never enough difference for me to notice or to think they were defective. My '92 Dodge Daytona does the same thing with factory installed power windows but it's much more noticeable. Like half-speed. Don't know what to tell you.....
