Well I Picked up the NEW to me Challenger today - Happy Day
« on: July 05, 2008 - 05:30:03 PM »
Its Official, I am now an E body owner once again  :woohoo:

I drove into town and picked up my last car that I am buying, (how many of us have said that before).....
It started at Spring Fling this year, my wife came to her first show and helped me with my vendor spot tent setup and she decided to go look at some cars. I was interested in buying a 68-70 Charger and fund it with the sale of a GTO I was thinking of selling. Long story short, she came back and said if you are going to get rid of the GTO, and I suggest that you do because I do not like it, lets buy a Cuda or Challenger. Well there went the Charger out the window so I new of this car for about 7 yrs and the owner was not crazy about selling it but I figured I ask so I did, he shot me a price and a deal was made. Over the last 6 weeks waiting for the goat to go to NY I had almost cancelled the deal because I kept telling myself I overpaid, and maybe I did, I can now say So What if I did........I am happy.
My buddy and I went over to pick it up, drove it up onto the trailer without any problems strapped it down and off we went.

A little about the car, it is an R/T, original 440 is long gone, fender tag says it is an A/C.
Restored in the mid eightys, it has some FUNKY colors and Gold trim and a bunch of Chrome on it, it will all go.
It now has a built small block, owner said 360.
The owner has done some strange things on this car so it will be a challenge to fix the odd stuff......

Anyways, here are some pics from picking it up, the car is real dirty so the pics are not the greatest......

Nice work mate, looks like a great find.

That's like the 2nd one I've see with 5% (aftermarket) rear tint. Not a fan of it.

I know it does not look original but around this region it is a necessary evil. The sun is absolutely relentless. I am in a very similar climate to where that car came from. 115+ in the summer is common. We cannot use 5% anymore in New Mexico because of state law. My car has air conditioning but I will still have 20% on it when it is done.
