2009 Challenger pricing
« on: July 08, 2008 - 07:40:24 PM »
Probably a lot of you got this, but I got an email from Dodge announcing pricing for the 09.  They will start at $21,995 MSRP.  I am sure they will sell a lot of the plain sixes at that price.

I just went to my local Dodge Dealer this weekend and saw a 08 Chally, fully loaded.  MSRP was $41, 890 and they added $20k on top of that to make it $61, 890   :22yikes:

The salesman was trying to get me to buy it (and actually trade my Cuda in for it) but I told him I found it insulting that they raised the price 20k just because it's a Chally....he tried to tell me it would be worth more than the original Chally come 30 years from now  :screwy: but I looked at him like he had 10 heads and he quickly shut up.  They called me twice the next day to see why I didn't buy it and both times I told them I thought they were F***ing the customer and didn't think it was right.

Call me crazy, but I think it's a shame that Dodge has put out a newer version of a great car and now it's existance in this new world depends on the greediness (if that's even a word) of the dealers..... :nono:

love it or hate it, that's capitalism, if the dealer can get someone to pay $60K for a $40K car they da** well will do it

Especially now. I'll bet a lot of dealers are trying to somewhat offset their down sales by adding huge markups on the Challenger.

Must mean 08, because there are no 09's out yet other than test mules as far as I know. Production hasn't begun yet.

You can't even get a price with options yet from a dealer.

You can actually. I've already got one priced and ordered. Got to pick and chose options.

How do they have an 09? I am pretty certain they aren't in production yet. Could be wrong though has happened before. I have seen local dealers by me advertise theirs as an 09 but when you go and see the car it is really an 08 and they dealer is totally wrong.

Yea I guess I could be wrong too but I don't think knowing the dealer would matter since being a dealer wouldn't even matter. I really don't think that any 09's will enter production until after the vacation (July 14-27th I think).

There have been a few mules but I'm almost positive those CANT be sold.
