     :iagree:  Especially when Toys R Us used to have a whole row of Amercan Muscle/ERTL for less than $20 each.  :faint:  They used to have so many different types of cars, now you have to struggle to find that brand anywhere but at an expensive hobby store.  :(

    There was an editorial in the lastest Car and Driver about the fact that die cast models are dieing off due to high costs of shipping and such.  Even the stuff made in China is dropping off.

    Wow, that's sad.  All the retail chains used to have some nice 1:18 stuff...Walmart, Kmart, Target...:walkaway:   Glad I got some before they became extinct.

    That's a very cool diecast model! :grinyes:  I've been slowly building a collection, but as already mentioned, they're harder to find in local stores.  I'm still bummed they no longer sell 1/25th-scaled buildable models (or even the paint!!!) at the local Wal-Mart, Shopko, and K-Mart stores. :walkaway:

    As far as the 1/25th scale plastic models go, I've had good luck find some in craft stores like AC Moore and Michael's.  Of course there is always the hobby stores, if you can find one.  Ebay is good but you have to pay the shipping.  :(

    The detail on this car is amazing. It has functional hood pins, the drive shaft turns with the rear wheels, the steering wheel turns with the front tires, the glove compartment opens, and the antenna even goes up and down. Even the gauges in the dash are very detailed.

    I used to have over 35 diecast 1/18 Ertl cars then RC bought them and the market for them was crap. Sold most of  them and decided to buy the Franklin mint ones-have all the cudas and challengers but 120 each. The highway 61 are exceptional but take up more space so I am sticking to 1/25 Danburymint has just made a 71 cuda vert to die for, but when you add up all the $$ i have spent on toys my real toy would be finished

    That's why it's $70.  It is very nice looking though!
