I was sitting with The Paddock in the vendor section when everything went down. We were directly across from Layson's tent when the cops stormed in with masks on and guns blazing. It was a pretty crazy site to see.
The guys from Mopar Collectors Guide just so happened to be sitting with us when everything unfolded. They jumped up with camera's to take some photo's and were warned to put them down. Rob Wolf, owner of MCG, continued to shoot pictures and then the cops detained him for a period of time. He eventually explained that he was with the press and was released. I would bet that next months MCG will have an article about all of it.
In talking with the event coordinators and some of Chryslers employees, we found out Layson should have avoided all of this. Apparently, for several years now, Chrysler has requested that he stop producing parts with the penestar or get the product officially liscensed. Mr. Layson was apparently very uncooperative and told Mother Mopar to go F themselves.
Mother Mopar wasn't pleased with Layson's response so they worked with the local law enforcement to send a loud and clear message about infringing on their corporate branding.
