This debate is sure to go on for a while. I do not agree with copyright infringement but for that matter I look for a quality part. I read about a plug wire kit that was of questionable quality and it was licensed. I am sure that there are plenty of quality parts that might be bogus. I could care less if a part is licensed by Chrysler, I just want the best part possible. If a guy in the alley was selling the best parts that money could buy you would find me in the alley getting stuff for my car. It is a shame they had to do "Operation Rolling Thunder" right in the middle of a national car show. I wonder who would have taken the blame if some kid happened to get run over by a cop itching to throw the cuffs on someone?

Imsure it will be in all the mopar mags... WAY OVERKILL .....

Carlisle's action never ceases to amaze me, though last year actually had a good turnout for some lucky soldier.  Given the circumstances, Layson's should have complied with Chrysler's friendly request, rather than keep "playing with fire" until they got burned...Okay, extremely charbroiled.  I bought my deck lid and quarter panel clips from them the last time I was at Carlisle and think they sold/sell good quality parts, but what they did was just wrong from a business's standpoint. :2cents:

Why not just comply with Chrysler? Would have had to share some of the pie with them? That's business and Layson thought otherwise.

That's the same thing I was thinking....After talking with some guys from Chrysler, the fee they were seeking was a very small percentage.  It may have actually made Layson money to be able to advertise officially liscensed Mopar reproduction parts.

Layson's is now open for business. You can call them to order parts. They are in a recovery mode from what all has happened, but they are back up and running.
