:wow: Tons of useful infos here!  :2thumbs: Thanks guys!!

Now considering everything you wrote about low end torque loss with 3" Cherrybombs on a 383, i will almost certainly go for the Dynomax Super Turbos and add a X-pipe crossover.

One more question is: Are the Dynomax Turbos actually louder than the Flowmasters, or do they just have a different sound?

Couldn't tell you in Db's but if you dig around both of their websites I bet you could find out. They definately have a different sound though.
Flowmasters have a very bass-y sound to them. It sounds like a low frequency tone somewhat like a sub-woofer. Driving around you could get a headache.
DynoMax has more of a mechanical engine sound to them. I think you can here the engine better with them, not like the sub-woofer experience of the Flows.

How much of a performance hit do you take going from 2.5" to 3.0" pipes on a small block?
Doesn't Goody run a 3" exhaust on a 318, how much better and where would the gains be if he went down to 2.5?
I don't want to hijack the thread, I ask because I have a new 3" TTI for my 360 I bought off a member here, still not installed but If I can trade it for a 2.5 I just might.

I actually ran 3" 110% DUMPED out the header when i ran last time at the track. 1.9x 60' and 13.68 with 30.5" tires. I will try it next time out with the mufflers for kicks i figure. Flowmaster super 40 mufflers (which i'm indifferent about the sound). No issues with 'too loud' and the law...law seems to get more joy of messing with the import guys rather than the muscle cars from what i hear from the imports..

had the 2.5" TTI system with Dynomax Super turbos on my 383 and the 440.    performance great, the 2000rpm drone was miserable.  actually caused earaches.

went to the Accurate Ltd  Exhaust  6 pack factory style system and I am highly pleased.    Still rumbles but doesnt get unwanted attention.   a pleasant drive for a change and you can hear the engine not just the exhaust.

I am thinking of going with the 2 chamber FLow's for that "illegal" sound. :burnout: :ylsuper:
