d rings

Is there anything negetive about using the d rings on accumulator piston?More maintenance sticking piston longevity.
street car basically stock 340 727 with transgo TF-2 kit.Thanks for advice.

If you use the "D" rings,you HAVE to scotch brite the bore in the case to make small lube grooves to hold fluid or the "D" rings will not last long. I don't "D" ring them unless I am going to block the piston solid.
