Lifter preload
« on: July 19, 2008 - 12:48:01 PM »
What preloading the lifter mean?
What should I do when installing new lifters?
I may be schizophrenic,
but at least I have each other

Zero lash + 1/8th turn is optimum for a hydraulic cam. If you don't have adjustable rockers all you can do is shim the shafts if the lifters are preloaded too much. Of course if you have a bad valve job and the valves heights aren't the same you're screwed. You can buy rocker shaft shims from Mancini.
