The HEMI is Born TODAY!

After almost a year and my wife telling there is no way that thing is going to fit in there, My baby was born today! (and like the song, It don't come easy).

What hood are you going to use?
I bought an aluminum radiator with an electric fan to keep it cool. I also bought a flat hood off a 71 challey that had been in dry storage for 25 years for $80.00.. I have a 68 hemi hood scoop to mount on it. It's the only one that will fit the crossram and the dual carbs. Maybe not time period correct, but it will look AWESOME when done. :grinyes:

Thanks for the nice comments folks! It's been one hell of a long day. I was so nervous about getting the engine hoisted up above the car and getting it set in. What a RELIEF! It truely was almost like having a baby. Glad it's over!  :grinyes:

Beautiful man!!!!!!!!!!! I know what you mean about having an engine hoisted above the rad support and fenders  :eek4: Dont wanna drop that monster on your car, you would have a hard time finding it under that beast  :smilielol: I cant wait for the vid of the first romp down the street  :burnout:

Very nice Dave. :2thumbs: What power is that putting out? You've said before but I forget. You may also need some extra body bracing/stiffening for that car if it's got heaps of HP, looking at it, it does. :grinyes: Just offering advice, last thing you want is that beautiful Challenger of yours being ripped apart at the seams. :crying: :2cents:
