Hundreds of dealership records, thanks Tom! Updated!
« on: July 22, 2008 - 03:41:53 PM »
Hey gang,
After the Carlisle show I stopped in for a visit with Tom Race at R/T Specialties. He has more NOS and used parts than a 454 can throw a rod at, it was amazing to see.

Tom gave me a HUGE box of dealership records from the L. L. Richardson Dodge dealership in Dallas, PA. The records rage from the 1930s to 1974 from what I have seen so far. I am estimating that there are records for approximately 3000 cars, everything from 6 bangers to 440-6 cars. The information is a real treat to see.

Due to the extra large donation of records, it will take me quite a while to get them all sorted out by VIN, model year and assembly plant. As I get each model year sorted out I will be listing them all in the "found" section of www.hamtramck-historical.com so that the legal owners of the cars can claim them.

For those of you I know with other Registries, I will have some information for several of you once I get to the cars you track.

I am going to have to buy at least two new filing cabinets and hundreds of file folders & page protectors to safely store these, so if anyone would like to make a monetary donation to help with that please let me know?

Thank you Tom for all of us!

Barry Washington

Once I move to PA I will know who to call.

I have been sorting them for hours now with an occasional "online" break, I am seeing numbers in my head.

Some cars so far have 3-4 pages of info, some were sold new and then later as used, must have been a fairly small town.

No problem, Barry. I use to go thru the titles at a local savage yard here. File them in order or send for salvage certificates. Hundreds at a time. I thought I was gonna go blind. LOL  I think the biggest thing in Dallas is the State Penn.  :smilielol: :smilielol:

Four drawer filing cabinets are $200.00 bucks here. I have 18 now but they are all stuffed full already for some reason..........

More people need to tell all their pals to check my site for thier VIN so I can clear some stuff out of here.

Hey guys,
I still have a lot to do with these, but the first batch of records were just added to the found section, 257 new entries, mostly Dodge cars from 1968 - 1974.

Happy hunting!
