Rear Defroster Switch / 73 Challenger
« on: July 23, 2008 - 04:48:37 PM »
I just got a perfect rear window defroster unit that I wanted to put in but I am still missing the switch. Anyone got one?

Also can you remove the plastic block off and use that position to install the switch? I found the decal I need for the panel but didn't know how easy it was to remove the black block off.

Hey Tripple-Green,

Here is a date coded (1203) switch and knob I can offer for $100 plus $7 for USPS Priority 2-3 day with insurance and confirmation number.

It was dissassembled and cleaned, housing glass beaded and zinc plated. All internal contacts and spades polished.

If that works for you, send me a PM to take care of the details.

PS, Hey Brett. I'm really glad you like it and thank you for your help with the pictures. :2thumbs:

If the switch is the same for a 73 Charger, I have one I took off to install a airgrabber switch, it worked fine when removed $20 shipped.

Hey 41husk,

Thank you for the offer. The case  size is the same but the mounting flange and arm movement are completely different.
The circuit board is tan for the B and red for the E body.

I'll take it. Please send me a PM and let me know what type of payment method.

Thanks again,
Slotts

I would love to get it but this is not a show car. :-\ I have no need for such a perfect piece. :money:
I am happy with one that was just pulled out. $100.00 is a little much for me. I only paid $50 bucks for the rest of the unit and it was almost NOS. It was only missing the Defroster vent and the switch. I was going to use the defroster vent, but I would like to find one with a green top. Thank you again Slott, but you are a little out of my budget for something that I probibly will not use much (California Car).  :worshippy

IF ANYONE HAS A BARGEN I AM LISTENING AND BROKE.

I am fitting a NOS Green Vynal top on it right now.  :woohoo: It took a large pile of pennys to secure a NOS top, so I am hurting right now and not in any hurry.

No problem Tripple-Green,

I thought I was offering you a deal. Consider it off the table. Take a look at this recently closed unrestored, but in nice condition, switch on Ebay.

Sorry I couldn't help you out. Good luck with your search. :2thumbs:

Also, it is no secret that I offered that complete defogger setup here on CC.com. I even reduced the price in the "Parts For Sale" section if you want to go digging. I will only say that bb71challenger, being the gentleman that he is, sent more than what I was originaly asking. That figure is between him and myself.
