Reproduction Ebody consoles
« on: July 24, 2008 - 05:39:37 PM »
Has anyone purchased this newly released Ebody console?  I have emailed the vendor and they state you would not be disappointed, has proper grain, 2 piece construction like original, and all hardware, and attachment points are like original.  If you have purchased one, what is your review on this new item.  Thanks.

We've talked about this in others threads. Nobody has bought one yet, but at that price it better be good.

Thanks for the link.  I just bought the 71 -74 version from another seller on ebay this morning. Only $226.00.  I see no reason to charge so much more for the 70.  :dunno:  I'll give ya nice pics and a review once it arrives.  Should only take a day or two since the seller is real close to me.

Not to get off topic but are there any other 71 owners that have the seat belt consoles?
Mine came with it. Your car would've had to been an early 71 production to have it.

Unless I was restoring a show queen I would not even want the 70 console. For the longest time I thought I was just missing the ashtray in my 'Cuda only to find out that the hole could not be plugged up with anything except seatbelts? Its just an ugly hole that is not even finished out right, wasn't very well planned out imo.

At carlisle, Tony's auto parts had on on display.  It looked nice, although i did not have an oem one sitting next to it to look at...if Tony's is at Columbus they will have one for sure on display.

Maybe Tony can tell us why the '70 is worth $100 more than the '71-74?   :bananasmi

im going to order a 70 monday ,i will post results when i get it im also happy with the price .if its like the b bodys it should be good. as for the 100.00 more im sure its because of supply and demand. a 70 e body has many parts thats exclusive and makes for a lower demand .happy happy joy joy joy

no, I.E. supply and demand.
the less you sell the more you have to make for it to be worth your while. Business 101.
One item you may sell for $100, sell 2 for $90 each, sell 10 for $85 each, etc.
The fact that the 70 is so rare makes it worth more, but also means there is less market for sales.
Tool up for a 71-74 console really opens up the market verus the one year only items.
I would wait to see the quality before assuming too much price gouging. Just look at the door panels out there to see an example of price gouging. As poor as the quality it does not take much for someone to overpay.

Not to mention that the 71 up style was also used in Chargers and Roadrunners. That makes the 70 style very rare and there won't be many people buying them.
I've actually altered the 71 up style to look like the 70 style.  ;D

Looks pretty nice.  Does anyone else see anything they have a problem with on that console?

500stroker,  You didn't say what you thought of the console?  So, what do you think?
