Please advise new Chally owners
« on: July 26, 2008 - 10:34:39 AM »
Hi all,

Obviously, with the new Challenger EVERYONE wants one.
With a bare bones MSRP of 21,000+, that makes it even cheaper than my Jeep!

My question to current owners is, I have 2 kids, my oldest son is 10.
Right now with my Wrangler, it's a pain with getting in and out of the back. I'm due to turn in my Jeep in a couple of months and itching like crazy for the new Chally, but I don't want to make a move and can't fit them in.
Mind you, they have enough room in my old car, and also I won't be taking any 5 hour drives with the back seat loaded.

So in short.....

Will 2 kids exist in the back of the new Challenger or should I go back to the Charger?

Any input is greatly appreciated !!
Jeff from Cleveland, Ohio

If you are tall, and like or need the seat back, there is no room for a rear passenger. I saw this last sat at a show. The driver was about 5'10 and there was around 3" of floor space for passengers legs

Kind of sounds like it, and that was what I was afraid of.
The killer is when I was at Carlisle, I saw a few of them but never examined the back seat spacing.

Thanks Moparal

This still gives me a reason to try and find a dealer with one on the floor

But where will his mother-in-law go?  :clueless:  :roflsmiley:

In all honest, take the kids with you to the dealership.  They will probably like the car so much that they'll find a way to fit in back.  Ask the dealer if you can take it for a spin for a couple of hours to see if the kids can get used to it!  :stirpot:

A long time ago we had an '80 and '81 Trans Ams, tight in back, but we made it work!  :grinyes:

As a fellow board member with two kids, I think you need to join me in the Charger world.  If you want to scratch the old-school Mopar itch, I bet you can get a good deal on a B-5 blue Super Bee right now.  There are still some '07 plum crazy purple SRT Chargers on dealer lots too, as well as '08 hemi orange Charger Daytonas.

:iagree: I don't know if they still have them (probably do), swift dodge in Sacramento had 2 plum crazy SRT 8 Charges a month ago and were marked down to 32k because they are 2007 models and the company needs to get rid of them. The salesman I talked to said that at this point if you just made them an offer they would most likely accept it.
