the rear seat is much deeper than the original chall but the space for legs is minimal , you have to try one for yourself

'08 hemi orange Charger Daytonas.

lol the lot I go to had one on display out on their lawn with another red R/T, so that's funny you should mention it.
Closed on Sunday, but the computer says they have 1 08 Chally in stock.
I would have thought they are all accounted for, I'll be calling Monday.

I'll keep everyone updated, but I think I can talk the kids into climbing into the back of a few cars. Funny, I used to do test drives for my own evaluation, the kids fitting are new for me  :D

Now we know why they sold so many big block Cornets and Fury’s  back in the day.

Leg room is limited unless you move the front seats foward.  I agree w/ Super Blue 72, take the kids to the showroom & let em sit in the back seat.  The 08, with its huge seat bolsters & high belt line (short windows) & raked windshield, seems much more confined than the interior of a vintage Chally, but very comfortable & functional.

Weird question:  Are there 2 or 3 sets of seatbelts in the rear of the new Challengers?  :clueless:  Thanks!

I'm really interested on hearing how this turns out.  I traded in my vette in order to get my kid into the car with me.  The fit was a little tight in my Firebird with the car seat, but now that she's in a booster she looks way more comfortable.

How big are the kids and how long do you anticipate using the Challenger for  a daily driver?

I've had three cars seats in the back seat of my vintage Challenger. It was tight and they could kick the back of my seat, which was pulled up a bit more than usual, but they all fit. Fitting easily and for a long period of time in both use and trip would be another story. I did the car seat thing for three months, and it was nice to be done with it.

My parent's had 3 kids in 1971 and we all road in the back seat of our 70 Challenger...  Granted that was in the days before car seats and seat belt laws. We even drove down to Florida in it when my brother was an infant (sitting in my Mom's lap most of the way).  Come to think of it, I guess it's a miracle we survived especially with all of that second hand smoke my Dad was blowing around :poopoke:
