Well, I think we've figured it's a '70 with a '72 engine...so it's not original... I'll lsee what I can find out.

Anyone got pics of where to look exactly?

The engine is from the 1972 model year from the Trenton engine assembly plant.

The Trenton engine plant is like 2 miles from where I live.  One day soon, I will do a drive by and snap some pictures.   :picture:

The fender tag is on the drivers side inner fender in the engine bay.  Should be rather apparent as it is a tag about two inch's by 4 inch's.  The last numbers on that tag, i.e. bottom right, will match stamp numbers on the cowl under the windshield, where the holes are for the windshield wiper linkage.  The other number stamp will be on the support that holds the radiator up front.  Could be any where on that but I have seen most on the drivers side and wiill probably be upside down.

So what carb should I look for to replace the melted one on the 440 when I get it? Just need a stock replacement basically.

Thanks.

If you're only going with a stock rebuild, a 750 should suffice.  Add any performance parts and you'll need more air to feed the beast.

PM sent.

Rescue it? You may as well try and rescue Marilyn Monroe. That one is a goner.

That car is pretty hurt looking, anything can be saved but not sure it`s worth it.Also if the engine has been sitting open like that for any amount of time it may need a complete rebiuld so I doubt you can just throw a carb on and run it.   :2cents:

The hood was closed and latched.

I intend to get it out of the junkyard. I have people with interest parts and the car.

Did you ever find the fender tag readout and the number stamps?
Sure would love to know what is on that little tag.
