I'm going to  chime in with..................70..........R/T S/E a real one..................the 71 had the option of the formal roof but was not called SE.   They had some of the small fiberglass inserts left over and needed to use them up........!!!!

I am sure there is stuff on the build sheet but to my knowledge nothing shows up on the data tag because the cars vin already tells the tale as to whether or not it is an R/T, SE or R/T-SE. In 71 There probably is a code signifying the formal roof package specifically. No SE in 71 so it became a package with a code in the data tag. I may be wrong but that has always been my take on it.

I will start digging this weekend but I KNOW I have pictures of a Red, 71 RT/SE, Hemi Challenger in front of my friend's house in 78 or 79. The car had white stripes & I believe it had a white vinyl top too. It was definitely a SMALL rear window & my friend that was working on it knew it was really rare even back then! The car was in K.C., Mo. Ray.
