I just finished painting the underside of my hood into body colour and while doing that I noticed that my original front hood molding is way beyond repairs. I checked from ebag & year one for repop moldings and it seems that the chrome one is much more readily available and also much cheaper. I really like the looks of the chrome molding versus body colored but in a late challenger the "fender" corner pieces which are fiberglass and a part of the grill would be bit hard to change into chrome.

Anyone have a pic of late challenger with chrome hood molding or good at photoshopping? I suspect that it might look a bit odd if the corner pieces are body colored and the front of the hood is in chrome but I would like to see a pic. I will try to investigate if it would be possible to modify the corners on the grill with thin stainless steel for better looks.

Thanks in advance

our buddy Dave at Roseville carries reproduction trim.... long term the early model aluminum trim will not hold up as well as the metal on the better looking 72-4  Challey

I got the earlier trim and did a little sanding and painted it to match.

The profile didn't match though.

Thanks for the replies. I think that I will stick with the original style painted molding. Dave's price seems to be in a right range.
