Here ya go Cowboy. These are the only ones on my PC right now. I can get some pics of how it mounted later tonight. This is a custom made hitch. I could not find one for a e-body so I made one.

Kind of hard to get good pics under there, but here ya go. You might not like to do it this way Cowboy, but I had to drill though the frame rails and the bumper to put this on. I just didn't see any other good way.

I think this construction is pretty light... :2cents:

Yes it is, But I wanted the lightest hitch I could make. Its still heavy though Its made from 2" x 1/2" steel. Bolted together with 3/4" bolts. It does the job.

Thanx, - but, - I would never get that ligth construction street legal here in DK..???   :bricks1:

I need it welded together as one piece, and only bolted where it's mounted to frame...
And much heavyer materials...

Good luck my friend. I think you may still have to have one made just to fit for ya though. I couldn't find a hitch any place to fit. Thats why I made one.

I think another member has an old hitch on his that was an aftermaket unit at one time. Maybe he will chime in here.

What class of hitch do you need for that trailer?

Info:
Class I Hitches
This is the lightest type of trailer hitch. A Class 1 trailer hitch can handle a gross trailer weight (GTW) of up to 2,000 lbs., and a maximum tongue weight of 200 lbs. The hitch may be a simple drawbar-type hitch or step bumper-type hitch. Other hitches may have a crossbar with a small one-inch or 1-1/2-inch square receiver, or a small 2-inch by 5/8-inch receiver. This type of hitch is often used on smaller cars, smaller pickups and smaller vans (minivans) for bicycle racks, camping racks, and light-duty towing.
Class II Hitches
Class II hitches are for loads of up to 3,500 lbs. GTW and 300 lbs. tongue weight such as a small boat trailer, snowmobile trailer, motorcycle trailer or camper. This type of trailer hitch is appropriate for larger cars, full-size vans, full-size pickups and SUVs. Many class II hitches are designed specifically for your vehicle.

Class III Hitches
Class III hitches can handle up to 5,000 lbs. GTW and 500 lbs. tongue weight. This type of hitch generally has a 2-inch rectangular receiver and is considered the "standard" type of hitch for general towing. Most class III hitches are designed specifically for your vehicle. There are also some universal-fit class III trailer hitches available.

Cowboy,
I was working on the same thing but have not had the tme to finish it. Dave sent pics to me and with those pics and some mods I planned to mount a drop hitch receiver in my Challenger with the hitch exiting where the tag is. A flipped Cuda tag holder or any GM tag holder could be used. By flipping it the tag is still may be visible but on an angle to let the reciever attach. I was going to weld the receiver frame in between the rear frame rails. It was in the drawing stages and I have not got any further. Maybe it will give you some ideas. It is probably more modification than you would want to do with your car. The Challenger I was going to use was a low valued car. I just didn't want the hitch to show while it was not in use.

All hitches here in DK seems to be class III, - but a class II will do for me.  We can only draw a trailer weighin up to the cars own weigth  abouth 3000 lbs..
My new campingtrailer, ??? what is it called in english.???  is about 1800lbs..

Challenger6pak.
Here in DK it got to be mounted to the frame, and I just dont see the space, since the gastank goes all the way back over the rear panel..???   And I don't wanna cut the car to pieces...!

I did not think you would want to modify your Challenger that much. I would skip the idea for your car. I don't know of a way to do it with out extensive modification.

I have a hitch too, put on in the 70's for pulling a trailer with snowmobiles, but it looks much lighter than the one purple1 has.  I think it only attaches to the bumper by the license plate and the rear valance.  I'll have to look but I know it's not anywhere as strong as purple1's.  :dunno:

A bumper hitch will not allow Cowboy to tow what he wants to tow. He basically needs a modified reciever hitch from a full size Ram truck. It can be done, but the structural originality of his convertible will need to be changed. I wouldn't personally do that to a convertible.

I would tow that trailer cowboy wants with mine. The shop I made it at rated it a class I. Good up to 2000lbs.

You could make it like mine cowboy just weld it together. You would just have to drop the exaust to get it on like that.

Edit: Unless the laws in DK are different, all that trailer needs is a class I hitch. It is less than 2000 lbs. That is the cars towing limit (2000 lbs Says so in the owners manual) anyways.
