Slotts, This Is For You
« on: July 31, 2008 - 08:51:02 PM »
I told this to Slotts on the phone and he wanted me to tell the rest of you. This happened last year. As told to Slotts   " I went to court  for my burnout ticket(careless driving / 3points) :eek4:. It was great. I had a judge that was gearhead.First I handed my note from my mechanic that said there was something wrong with my choke. The judge looks at the note and says that car shouldn't have had an electric choke. I said your right your honor. He said I bet you put that on when you put the bigger 4 barrel on. I'm thinking I'm so done. Then I tried explaining that the car was acting like it was gonna stall. And I didn't want to be a road hazzard. So the judge says so you were power braking it.  :burnout: We ended up sitting in the courtroom BSing about cars. He has a 67 Mustang. He was thinking about buying a Camaro. And had just drove a Challenger. But said he didn't buy it because it was too fast and the police would be pulling him over all the time.  And he had a 440 police interceptor in his car when he was a police officer. At one point the police officer interupted " Excuse me your honor , there was a reallly big burn out up on the hill and I'm not so sure that wasn't her, too. " So I had to tell the judge that it was the 68 Charger in front of me. :roflsmiley: :roflsmiley:  So he made a deal with me. He found me not guilty but I had to donate the fine money to the town's Christmas Fund. Then he says to the police officer" I'm sorry, but you know I love old muscle cars"   So no points on my license and I donated money to a good cause.

I only fought it because the police officer didn't have a sense of humor. He walked up to the car and said " I hope that was worth $107.50. "  I said not really. When he came back he said " I just wanted to let you know I have it all on video ." So I said for $107.50 do I get a copy?  :smilielol: :smilielol: :smilielol: One of my friends is a police officer and I told him were I was and were the police officer was. And he told me there was no way he had me on video. And he didn't. ;)

It's good to see someone in the court system has a sence of humor.
