the engine and tranny are orginal as far as i know...when i said the drivetrain was pulled and put in a shed....well the guy the owns it pulled it and put the motor and tranny is storage so now one will mess with them..he still has them....and yes the guy knows what he has....i've tried to talk him into selling won't do....but won't restore?? makes me mad...his boy is going to clean it up not restore because there isn't much rust on it and the vinal is in good shape.....soo hes goign to wash it and wax then put it under a tarp intill he can afford to fix it.

I hope they do restore it, let-it-be now or in 10 years time, that car is just to cool and rare to let rot away.  :-[

I don't understand why they let them sit, but hey its in a closed area.

my step dad has a 65 vette and a 66 chevell convert and they just sit. I have told him to sell them, hes not sitting on them just to lazy to do anything. the vert is in Montana winters and the vette is in the garage since 96 with a flat tire and 1/2" of dust on the interior, electric window and he didnt roll them up.   I wish I had a hammer or a bat >:( >:( for him not the car.

I think the main reason for him is that he doesn't havea job right now besides farmign and doesn't have the time to restore it or try to fix it...so its sitting...

If he is going to work on it and it is in good shape after cleaning it up,  I'd think twice before restoring it.  An original survivor in decent shape is as important to me as one that has been completely redone.  Anyone want to help get it back on the road ?

Just my 2 cents,

They seem to have a decent array of projects...

DF- Why don't you ask your friend if you could work on his car. If you work on it and earn the dad's trust, maybe he'll consider selling? Just a thought.
