one of my cars got egged and I can't get the crap out of the convertible top! It dried overnight in the warm weather. I just wish they had left some bacon and hash browns so I could have eaten before trying to get it off! Any ideas? Its not my challenger but thought I would ask. thx in advance. :swear: :swear:

I've actually used laquer thinner on a previous WHITE convertible top that was once on my car. I wouldn't try it black though. Also, if the thinner didn't get the stain immediately I quit and washed that area with soap & water then used some vinyl protectant. It's pretty risky, so if you're not sure don't try it.

From previous experience... rotten eggs rank up there with potatoes gone bad. They stink beyond belief!!   :eek4:

High pressure spray hose is what I used.

Its a black canvas top? i was able to get off all the surface egg, but some has become ingrained in the canvas texture. tried soap/water and tooth brush with zip results. i would hate to scrub the top off the car! Although the car rarely gets driven with the top up, it just pisses me off! thx for the input guys/girls

my son had eggs thrown inside & we thought we had it all but after some time I found more dried on that did not want to come off, used a solution of carpet cleaner + Oxy clean type stuff, I've found that adding a teaspoon of the Oxy stuff to a gallon of water & cleaner makes for a powerful potion.

Take the car to a quarter car wash and use the pressure washer. First wet down the painted area of the car. Then spray the area with a convertable top cleaner and lightly aggitate it with a carpet brush (both avaliable at the parts store). Rinse with pressure washer and make sure to keep it 6 to 12 inches from the top as not to rip it. Also work the pressure wand back and forth over the area as not to stay on one area. If you like you can call me tommorrow morning and I can give you a better description as I own a high line detail shop. My # is 704.333.5821

I've read that a mild solution of white vinegar and warm water (50/50 solution) is very effective. Soak a towel in the solution and place on the stain for about ten minutes use a soft bristle brush, then rinse thouroughly. Hope the stain comes out!! I'd be very  :swear: :stomp: :swear: Any ideas of the culprits??

Hopefully you can get it out before it causes any permanent staining to your top...Any ideas why they did it?

thanks for all the tips! will try them out today and let you know if there is any success. As for the reason for the egging, no reason! apparently around here the grade 11's egg each other at years end. A few of my daughters friends places also got egged same night. also have it all over my new shingled roof! Same deal, not like I can get up there and scrub it off! Hopefully a name will come about taking credit! Although there is no hard damage, a new vert top for my car and a new roof is about $12,000.00. Not funny!

The worse part is, even today it's hard to do anything even if you know who did it.  My house got egged when I was in High School 'cause I was the new kid in town and kids today - that's what they do.  Welcome to the neighborhood - you're going to need a new paint job.

I decided not to attent my 10-year high school reunion because I feared that I'd finally take the opportunity to beat the sh!t out of the kid who did it.  I'm a lot bigger than I was 10 years ago.  :)

That's why I don't want kids - it seems like today, they all grow up to be little sh!theads...

I'm glad there at least wasn't any paint damage.  We'll all look the other way if you find out who did it. :)
