Well,  I have begun stripping the car to place it on a rotisserie.

The passengers fender has been replaced from some type of accident.
These are the part numbers.  There is no hole for the antenna. 
Is this the same as you would get for an AAR?

My 71 front turn signal covers were also a piece of plastic.  I figure it's a dealeership upgrade.
Got new lenses from B, E & A Restorations. Paid more than I wanted to, but, they look a lot better than the plastic.

Your older pictures dropped off.  How's your grill?

Sold the grill to Drew here.  We actually traded, he took the grill and I get my valance insert rebent and refurbished.


Dealer Upgrade !!     Probably cost an arm and a leg like everything else from factory.

I assume you are happy with your BE&A reproduction lenses?

Today I got the engine bay stripped of everything that would unbolt.  Aside from the suspension.
Removed the doors.
Removed everything from the trunk that was possible, tail lights, turn lights, deck lid hindges, deck lid torsion bars, etc. etc.

Car moves around much easier with the doors off. 

Found some rust that I hadn't seen on the passengers front door pillar.
Found a few rips in the metal where the front of the car was tweeked by an accident.  Fixable
Removed most of the wiring.

Found a pink tooth brush !!

I have your grille part repaired , I need to do some final touches,

 but you are a long ways off,

 but just to let you know I just about got it done , so we can hook up some time in the spring/summer,

 I believe you have seen my plan for the exterior.


Something like that anyway.  Wings are quite expensive so for now I figure the duck tail of course.

Dont' know what engine yet.  Depends on what is available when I am to that point. 
Thinking one of the 5.7 Hemi's just because they seem to be readily available at good prices.
Otherwise, I have a few 440's and a 340. 
 Honestly, I can't spend 40K on this car so I really can't afford a
high grade XV or something.  So, mid grade on the handeling.

Of course, the interior is going to be red. 
So far, I have a steering wheel for the interior.  Seems harder to find than a wing.

I am sure I will go with black out rims, would like 17-18 or 18-19 combo.  Depending on depth of modification.

This will be the furthest I have ever torn into a car.  Down to the bones.

Welcome to the "I can't believe I tore the car down that far club"  I thought I was going to rebuild a 340, slap on some paint, wheels and drive the thing. That was a good few years ago! Dang has it evolved. A lot of that is due to wanting a car that handles and not just a cruiser/drag car. I've got to blame Pro-Touring.com for that!

I'm up in Erie, CO also. I've got a fair amount of stock style Challenger parts which roll over to Cuda's for a lot of things that I'll eventually not need since mine is a full Pro-Touring type project. Not sure what you need, but I may have some items that would help if they aren't Cuda specific depending on what you are building. (full front suspension with power disks, etc.)

As far as suspension for stock style T-Bars, leafs, etc, look at Hotchkis for a very good performing set up. Nice stuff and they get to the tracks to prove it.

If all of us Colorado guys get the projects done we need to go to High Plains and get some laps in!

Got lots more done today.
Took the steering column out.
Removed the heater box.
Removed dash trim.
Removed sail panel holder tracks.
headliner rods.
seat belts.
firewall insulation.
front wiring harness.

I took the car out to the driveway and powerwashed the car real good.
Got lots of dirt off of it.
Here are some pics.

Found this rag folded up behind the passengers kick panel.
Next to a folded up paper that I thought for but a moment that it was a build sheet.  NOPE.

Look at the bottom of my trunk.
Not one rust hole. Top only has pitting.


This is a factory mark on the rear wheel tub.


Don't know what this is for.
