Shaker question
« on: August 04, 2008 - 01:37:33 PM »
I am not sure if this would go under the engine section or body section, so I put it here.  Since I just purchased a flat hood for my Challenger, I have been thnking about gathering up parts to make a shaker hood/engine.  I was wondering: can I still keep my current intake and carb (both Edelbrock) and install the original looking Shaker parts without much trouble?  Or do I have to have custom parts to make it work?

Yep, I have it listed right above my picture  :2thumbs:

I have the RPM (non-airgap) intake and 600cfm carb (I think #1406).  I might switch to a 750cfm in the future, if that helps.

you may be able to get away with a shorter base as used on a 440 4 bbl & the taller intake

I did not even think about that.  Do you know the difference in height between the bases?

I have the rpm intake on mine.Iused a drop down air cleaner and attached a 1/8 aluminum plat to it to make the carb base plate.I bought a fiberglass adapter ring and use a 2'' air cleaner .Ithink I have a total of $40.00 dollars into it and it works great.
