I could, but when I started this project they were priced $100 more than the XV manifold so I went with XV. By the way, they've had my money since June 6th too! I got disgusted with them and went to my dealer a while back and the MP manifold had gone up to OVER $1000! The parts manager is a good friend and checked to see what dealers cost was on it for me and it was still better than $200 more than the XV manifold. The only other carb option is Edelbrock's dual 4 bbl setup, and I don't want to run dual 4's. I'm just going to have to ride this one out, but I seriously doubt that I will ever buy anything from XV again!

I'm not real interested in the E.F.I angle, guess I'm too oldschool plus the mods I would have to do don't appeal to me. I appreciate the links, but the Arrington price is still $280 more than XV! I can get kind of stubborn (must be that German blood in me) and as far as I'm concerned the prices Mopar Performance is trying to get is gouging, plain and simple. I know darn good their markup is WAY over what it's costing them to make those manifolds. There's a guy over on the Hot Heads Research board who is getting ready to cast some 4 bbl intakes for the early DeSoto hemi and he's saying they are not going to be cheap (around $500 each) because it's a small run. Now, you take an outfit like Mopar Performance who is selling these manifolds AND putting them on every 5.7 crate motor that's going out the door and that amounts to a LOT more manifolds than the other guy who's making manifolds for a niche market (a 50 year old hemi). Something's not right here and I'm not buying in to it! Heck, Edelbrock is only pricing their dual four manifold at $399!

Called XV again today. They still have absolutely no idea when they will be getting the manifolds, acted like they couldn't even be bothered with calling the supplier to find out either! What a way to run a business!

FYI.... I heard today that INDY is coming out with a manifold. I'm holding off on buying my manifold (XV) just to see if theirs is better.

BTW, here is an alternative pan to the $400 pan.  I am not familiar enough to say whether it woudl work for your applications.

Copy & pasted from someone who did one already.    the $60 oil pan from the durango (  #53021687AC OIL PAN DURANGO) was slightly modified with a piece of three inch pipe cut down the middle and welded into the back edge of the sump on the pan to help with steering (draglink) clearance.

I have one on order. I am working with projects are:  69 cuda getting a 6.1 EFI/6 speed and a mine is a 70 Duster getting a carbed 5.7 w/ TF727.

Very unfortunate to hear that about XV.  I would have to call them every week just to bug them.

That is not the way you run a business.
