Which tires should I buy???
« on: August 07, 2008 - 06:39:08 PM »
I need new tires for my 70 Challenger.
I have no idea what to use. I'd like to stay with the OEM look and size.
What do you guys like?

What size are your current rims?  What kind of driving do you do and how do you expect to use the car.  What type of engine and suspension modifications have you done/plan on doing? :chatting:

I like useing the 15 inch rallye's on mine. 15x7 front 15x8 rear. The tires I run are t/a radials   275 60's on the rear and 235 60's on the front.

If your running 14" rims you have very little to chose from, in 15" there are a few good options other than the reproduction bias tire that I would only recomend for a show car.. If your going to be driving much at all you want radials.. B.F Goodrich Radial T/A seems to be what most folks settle on, Goodyear & Firestone both have a white letter radial & there are some good tires in lesser known slightly less expensive brands such as Cooper & Kelly which I have had good results with both.  It will be about impossible to get the OE sizes, mine came with F70/14s roughly a 205/70/14  or 215/70/15. Id suggest something more on the line of a 235/60 for looks, handling & availability

Thanks guys, I didn't notice the thread at the beginning of this section. I should be able to get what I need there.
I've got the stock OEM 14'' rims , I think front and rear are the same width(5 spoke mags), it's a 318 car that is box stock.
It will probably be a year or two before I do any mods at all. The car is so original it's sick. I
