He gives me NaN, maybe you can try hemiken. Bore 4,360, stroke 3,750, 78 cc head, pistons +5cc, felpro headgasket, 0 deck.

What worries me moore Tom is that the excellent machineshop didn't do the intake, so the guy bought the heads from McCandless milled
and ready and jsut bolted them on to the shortblock he got from the other place.

What felpro headgasket do you have?  You need the compressed thickness to calculate C.R.

I come up with 10.91 with a .039 head gasket.

If you use a thicker one say .080 it is under 10-1.

A competent machinist will just mill the Intake face on the heads to compensate for any block deck or head milling done.  That way you can still bolt any Intake on and you won't end up with a manifold that only fits one motor.

I took another look at the instruction sheet for my rings, and found the identification in the middle of the page! The bright one is the top ring, and the dark one the second. Bevels or dot markings go to the top, and stepped rings get the step on the bottom side (smaller diameter down). How is gasoline in your area? That will be what setermines what compression ratio you can get away with.

I planned to use the ones in the big gasketset, don't have a partnr alone. Gasoline here is 95-98 octane but people over here say it's not better then yours. Supercuda, I got the rings right  :2thumbs: 71chally416, I suppose McCandless did what you said, I noticed no problem when I swapped cam.

Checked the felpro gasket, it's 0,044 uncompressed and piston to deck is 0,022.

Yeah so you got the one that is .039 compressed, You will be pushing it on pump gas unless you have a big cam to bleed off cylinder pressure.  There are a few companies out there with thicker gaskets you can use to lower your compression, also there are a couple thickness intake gaskets out there too.

wouldn't your pistons be -5cc with the valve relief and not +5 like you have above.

If it is -5, i did the calculator with compressed Felpros at .038 and came up with 10.87 compression.

According to spec it should be +5, you add combustionchambers volume by the reliefs. Domepistons is minus.

The K56 has 504/504 lift, 272 running duration, 224 @ .050, 110 lobe centers and 336/336 gross cam lift.
Should give good torque, idle and vacuum. Now I don't know if the compression will be too high.
My options are to restore a pair of untouched -906 I have or a pair of 440source heads I had planned to use for the Chally
but that's only for later.  :clueless:
