Steering seals
« on: August 08, 2008 - 11:59:59 PM »
I'm wondering, is there a good source for the original type seal (boot) that fits between the pitman arm and the center link on the Ebodies?  Same question for the tie rod ends and the idler arm sponge washers; I don't need hardware, just the seals.

Thanks

OE style avail....a bit pricey, Energy suspension works but looks nothing like stock

My idler arm has (torn) foam seals at top and bottom, the tie rods have cone shaped boots, but the existing pitman arm "boot" is much shorter and looks more like a bellows.

bullitt99, those look about right but wholly cr*p, are they kidding!  :22yikes: $208.00  ??

That's a Mopar Part, I searched the part# & that's as low as they go for....some ask 230+.
Someone stated here once that you can track down the individual pieces through Mopar & save a few bucks......or spend about 50 on the ill fitting Energy Suspension pieces...what I did.

Yes, those two resemble what is on my pitman arm now; very low proflle bellows with a "lip" to fit in the groove around the arm.

That one looks more like a tie rod boot than a pitman arm boot.  Maybe a generic photo?

Maybe...mine was kind of flat compared to the tie rod boots.
