Does the Whitney lower quarter replacement reach from the bumper to the door jamb?

Yes, it reaches from bumper and folds into door jamb and into wheel lip...  It is a complete lower 1/4...

I can grab some pics at different angles tonight if you would like them...

Sure, that would be great, I don't think I have seen a lower 1/4 "patch" like that.

Thanks

Thanks, yep the Whitney panel did not have the cutout for the side marker so had to do a little trim...

Here's one of mine - which I've posted before, so apologioes if you've seen it. I bought skins and cut them at body line. While I can see the merit of going higher, as it would allow you more room to do the inners, I THINK (IMO) cutting at a body line minimizes everything (work, weld line, warpage possibility, filler, etc). It's also easier (requiring v. little filler) to finish the inside. It's very difficult to tell the qtr was ever touched.

I flanged the edge and used the edges from new qtr at the door and tailight. Make sure you triple check your drop-off, rockers, rear valance fitment before welding. I like to use vicegrips and metal screws. The holes leftby the metal screws make good spot weld points.

Best of luck!!

I know everyone likes to do it a little differently - and the job often dictates the approach, but this worked well for me here.

tac welds work best, drill patch panel, lap it below character line. quick, effective.

Great info and photos, guys, thanks.  Pretty cool the way you cut around the side marker holes, cudaguy71.  So otherwise the whitney panels are fine and thick enough?

yes the Whitney panel worked great.  20 Ga. steel same as the Paddock full qtr...  Had no trouble welding...

Here are some pics...
is the lip at the rear included on the patch panel?
I'm talking about the rear edge in the middle picture.

I did the chinese 1/4 to the top of the trunk body line on the left. But do cut around the marker light and patch the original into the new panel as those Chinese musta been smokin some wacky weed when they made or modified the mold. I used the full Mopar 1/4 on the other side and everything fit perfect. Everything looks fantastic. Remember that your panle may look good above some point but exposure over this time thins the meatal out and you actually reopair something that should be replaced. This happened in my trunk floor extensions - looked good but finger pressure could flex the metal. Cannot do this with the new ones.
