September 10, 1974 our new Barracuda joined my 56 Chevy Truck along with my grandfather's 55 Chevy Truck.

This is the same car in the avatar.  It's been through a few changes but still sitting out in my garage and driven regularly!

allways was poor till started own business, loved e-bodies since i was 14 or 15, 42 now.. Anyhooo found it in 2005 ,# matching 73 340 pd $10,000 been restoring every since . flew from nebr to boston and drove back in it, it has 77,000 original miles. and since have a total of over $50,000 dollars in it and it will be finished in three weeks. yeeehaaaaw. I know some people wonder why you would put that much money in a 73, I fell in love with the body lines long ago,it has never mattered to me if it was a one of one or a hemi,to me it was body lines and it was a Dodge

1973...ordered the car while stationed at CCK AB, Taiwan, pix was taken the day it was delivered, it was wrecked (the first time) the next night

...340/AT, AC, many options, stripe delete...quite possibly the worst car I have ever owned, I could type for hours about the problems.....also, it was accident prone....it was rear ended when it only had 79 miles on it, and was hit nearly every time I parked it, side swiped sitting at the curb, slid thru a barbed wire fence backwards, rammed head on by an ex wife,  a tree fell on it in an ice storm  and crushed the roof, ... it was finally drowned in 8 ft of water by the next owner...like Christine, it survived, only to bite the 3rd owner, I'm sure :roflsmiley:

Man, the old schooler 70's guys and the young pup generation are killing the 80's dudes. I thought for sure the 80's would win out,   :clueless:

Not all of those buying their first E-body in the 2000's are young pups.  Several are guys in their 40's and early 50's who can finally afford to buy the muscle car they've always wanted.

I bought a '70 GC in the summer of 1976.  It started life as a 318 automatic, and over the years grew up to be a 340 4-speed with an 8.75 sure grip packing 3.55 gears.  That car would flat out run.  I had to sell it in 1985 because as my battalion XO (a major) told me, "Lieutenant, you need to get a car that is more representative of your position as an Army officer and a leader."

Now, I am working on another '70, bought in '06, and a '73 Duster bought last year for my son's birthday.

First Challenger I bought was a 440 six pack recreation sometime in 2005.  I was finally grown up enough to afford a toy
