someday soon is now a little closer.
« on: August 10, 2008 - 10:25:06 PM »
Fired it up today, what a great feeling, as I'm sure most of you know it also. Didn't happen without mishap though. First I went to prime it and leaked oil into the car. I had pulled my gauge panel back out for a repair and forgot to hook the oil line back up. Then finally went to fire it and nothing but sputter and backfire. I thought maybe the initial tune in the bs3 ecu was maybe off or the ecu timing was off. Started looking and seen I input the firing order wrong. Fired right up, Geez what a moron. The Magnaflows sound awsome. Now just a bunch of little loose ends and a good inspection for loose nuts and bolts. And the most important thing finding someone to teach me how to tune this ecu.  Pete

Thanx guy's. Goody thats all me. The exhaust logs or headers I made along with the down pipes wastegate plumbing actually everything you see is me. I made all my own hardlines for fuel, vacuum water and brakes withe exception of the frt to rr brake and fuel lines but did modify them. The motor was put together by me also. Motor is a 497  block girdle, alum mains, callies crank, oliver rods, je pistons, straightline performance roller cam, cnc'd eddy heads, roller lifters, roller rockers, ls1 coil paks, 238 lb hr inj per cylinder, indy max pump, master power t70 turbo's. This car has not left this garage since I pulled it in, I turned every nut made my own caliper mounts. paint body work, you name and I did it and it's been a long road and the last year has been probably the hardest thinking I may never finish but I'm jazzed now. Look closely at these 2 pics and you'll see how far I've come back from. Pete

That car looks amazing!!!  Your custom turbos setup is great and will really propel that thing down the road quickly.  There's an old member here who did twin-turbochargers on his '72 'Cuda and I think he was pulling off mid-9's prior to going EFI.  You did an amazing job with the bodywork as those photos really show just how far you went to restore/modify this sweet ride! :2thumbs:

They look great! I'd love to make use of the pair of 3/8" TTI small block header flanges I have sitting around (both feed a single/large turbo). But I can't weld OR fabricate anything.  :eek4: I hate being at the mercy of someone else when it comes to my car!

Where abouts do you live, just out of curiousity. Car has got to be wild in person.

Goody I'm up in Sparks, north of your old stomping grd. Before I started working on this car I had never welded before, I'm still not a welder just a weekend burner. Don't be afraid get a machine and practice. How do you think I felt when I skinned my Quarters. Pete
