    71 Challenger R/T M28

    I thought I might go ahead and show my 71 Challenger during its restoration (its a real backyard restoration) up here for all of you guys to see, I bought this car last year in South Carolina and its currently a 318/727 auto with 340 heads 4bbl carb. Its mostly standard, was a vinyl top car so it has window channel rust, was B5 with blue interior but someone changed it to a black 70 SE interior and put the wrong bucket seats in there. Its an ongoing project so if you guys see anything wrong just let me know so I can fix it. I know you guys like pictures so I will post a lot. :jumping:

    I noticed that the VIN says it is a 1970, but I reread that you said that it was a 71 with a 70 interior.  Do you still have the original dash with the correct VIN plate?  If not, that could give you problems in the future.

    I plan on going with B5 blue with black guts and a black vinyl top with the blackout on the hood and the t/a spoiler.
    Ill either keep the 318 with 340 heads or if I can find a 340 block without heads for a good price then Ill go with that, I plan on driving it alot so ill wait to put in the BB.

    I noticed right away it had a 70 dash.  Looks like someone replaced the pad and did not properly swap the VIN plate.  I would not recommend doing too much until you get clarification from you state about this problem.  You may need to have a law enforcement officer look over the car and so forth.  Bear in mind, if you get pulled over and the VIN plate does not match the title, you could end up behind bars if the VIN plate belongs to a stolen car.
