I just thought I'd share that I went to the benefit concert the local Home Depot store managers (my sister included) put together for the three teen shooting victims from July 31st. They had a HUGE turnout and even managed to get Scott Murray (a local motocross rider who was invited to the X-Games a week ago) and one of his riding friends from Kenosha, WI to come out and do a bunch of insane tricks in front of the crowd. The food was good, the company was great, and while the lives of those three taken cannot be given back, the families' will each be given around $20,000 through all the donations received.
On a side note, I hope they open up the federal case against this awful man soon and give him the death sentence to be carried out immediately. He was a former Army soldier who later became went into the local National Guard, then pulled this horrific slaughter of three random local teens who were enjoying themselves on the river. Perhaps the sickest part of this all is that he told someone three years ago that they can expect to see him on CNN headline news and actually had the weapons, clothing, and ammunition staked out for several months, possibly years, wrapped in plastic and in his make-shift camp near the site of the shootings.
