Drove a new 6.1 Hemi Challenger- I'll take my 70 R/T
« on: August 12, 2008 - 10:35:55 PM »
While on vacation in Montana, a friend asked if I wanted to drive him to Bozeman to pick up his new Challenger. While in town, he let me drive it. It was by no means much of a road test on my part, but the car didn't seem very quick. My 70 Challenger (383, 4-speed, 3.23, 354 dynoed hp) seems much quicker. Maybe it's just the poor steering and handling of my 70 that makes it seem more of a handful. Of course, if I were taking a trip, like anything over two miles, I'd take the new one!

Although I do prefer the originals I drove an 08 last weekend and was blown away by how quick they are. Floor this car and it takes off like a rocket.

Just my :2cents:

If you're just cruising around town you're not going to notice the punch, but once you step on it and get deep in the revs, you'll feel the punch.
