Complete set original panels???
« on: August 12, 2008 - 10:54:40 PM »
What is a complete set of original Challenger Black panels worth.  They look real good in pics.

They are black not chalky, have woodgrain inserts etc.  Complete and ready to bolt in.

Thanks

What are the repros?  I would guess $500 for a good set.  If I really wanted a good set, I would pay that, if they needed no work.

That price for all four.  Are the rears included?

If they are in tip top shape, they could go for $1,00 easily, could be much higher if you get several bidders that need them.  A full set of repros will run someone $750.00 or so.  I know several people that would kill to get a good set of originals for $1K.

I have seen the repros for around 550 for all 4.  I wouldn't pay a G either for originals :grinno:

But I have a chance to get a set of 4 Front and rear for decent money i think.  I offered 350 but he didn't bite yet.  Maybe i'll up it a little.LOL

Thanks guys

I'm talking no chalking, no scratches, virtually no wear and tear.  Even for $550 I would never buy a current set of repros.  If you have a shot at a full set of originals, go for it.  If you haven't already done it, I would check them out in person, though, because pictures will hide a lot of defects.

Thanks, I hadn't bought the repros due to their reputation.  That and I've never seen a set for sale in person.  I went to Carlisle 3 yrs in a row, you'd think that someone would have some there to view.....

I'm going to make another offer, maybe up it to 425 for the full set.

There are still quite of few of these door panels around in very good condition.  That being said, I would sell them for a little more than what repops sell for.  Perhaps $200 more.
Black is a very common color and as they fit Cudas, Baracudas, Challengers, RT Challengers and RT/SE Challengers they are still very much out there.  Now if the panels you have would have been a harder to find color such as Blue, Red, Burnt Orange etc, the number still available and in good shape would be much less, and therefore worth more.

the cuda and challenger are totaly different and the 70 year is exclusive on the rear panels. i drove 600 miles and paid 1000.00 for mine just last month the repops with arm rests and shipping will set you back at least 750.00 plus a sick felling after your neighbor fetches them from his pool . when i build an e body the most important parts are the grille dash and door panels to clean up.so thats a priority for me .i must add that the panels i bought are near perfect .also the rumors of a new company making the panels is iffy and projected to cost 3500.00 a set .c
