143 vs 130 tooth flywheel

Ok, so like everyone else I'm converting my 904 to a 833 OD 4 speed.  :burnout:

This is part of the project when I install a rebuilt 360 to replace my 318. I have a bellhousing, numbers on it are 3743859, as well as 05305 1. I also bought a external balance flywheel for the 360, but after seeing a 130 tooth flywheel mine has to be a 143. The number on it is 5300 6741 K 68178 NH. (whew!)

So, can anyone tell me if any of this stuff will work together? Or do I have a bell for a 130 tooth flywheel and a 143 tooth flywheel to go in it? ::)

just tagging in so i can get the info too. some of it is explained in my A-833 thread in the tranny section. but im still a bit confused.

The  143 tooth 360 setups were for the trucks with an 11" clutch and a bellhousing that doesn't take the 833.  I don't believe there was a small block bellhousing that was for a 143 tooth/833 combo.  You need to get a 360 130 tooth flywheel.  These are much harder to find than the 143 tooth truck version.

So the 143 and appropriate bell was for the granny-low type transmissions? I know there were 360 trucks that came with 833's, they must have had 130 tooth flywheels then?

The only 833's in trucks that I am aware of were with the slant 6 or 318 and they were the overdrive  version.

The part number I believe you need is 3515734.  This should be the 72-73 version of the 4 speed bell housing.  130 tooth for passenger cars.
