1973 Plymouth Satellite Sebring
« on: August 19, 2008 - 01:32:58 PM »
Last night I went and looked at a '73 Satellite Sebring a guy was asking $600 for.  While I was there, he talked himself down to $500.

It's a two door hardtop, 318 auto on the column.  Seems to run and drive pretty good.  Looks pretty decent, but has some small dents in the passenger door, some (California) rust and a bigger dent in the passenger quarter.  There is some patches of light surface on it.  The interior needs a little work but appears to be complete.  Glass is all good.  It has a clear title, but is not currently registered.

Should I even be questioning buying this?  Even if I decide I want out, I should be able to get my money back out of it.  I had been looking for a slant six or 318 Duster or Valiant when I found this.

How can you lose? Unless it's a rust bucket which it doesn't sound like you can't go wrong for the price.

Gaaah, I'd love to have one of those.  My aunt bought a '72 Satellite brand new.  Different grilles of course, but same idea.  I agree, cant go wrong for that price.

get it. i paid 300 for one with no engine, no tranny, and a total POS. 500 for one you can roll around in. grab it. i made about 1200 on parts alone off the thing.

I'd say buy it.

If the rear quarters are salvageable, I'd buy the car just for them.  My 73 Roadruster almost doesn't have any.

Okay guys, I lined up a trailer to haul it home, called the guy up and let him know I'll be coming up there again tonight to get the car.

As far as I remember, one quarter panel I'm iffy about, the other was good.  I might be able to save it, depending on access to the panel.  The lower section will definately need a patch.

Pictures coming soon as I can get 'em!!   ;D

Cool! I'd do the same if I had the chance!

Good luck with your new Mopar!
