1970 Cuda 440 4barrel air cleaner color
« on: August 20, 2008 - 07:16:31 PM »
Can anyone tell me what the correct color the air cleaner would be on a 1970 U code 440 Cuda. Can you also tell me what the decal on the air cleaner should say (i.e. 440 Super Commander).

Thanks,
Rob

The air cleaner should be a black "wrinkle finish".  The Pie tin is not a sticker, but is actually an aluminum insert which should read "440 Super Commando".

You can get the Krylon wrinkle finish paint at Kragan's or other auto parts places. Easy to use.  For the pie tin, they come in red or orange. Get the orange one.

When you apply the wrinkle paint, put it on pretty heavy.  You get better texture that way. :2thumbs:
