Boris The Spider
« on: August 20, 2008 - 07:40:12 PM »
Boris the Spider took up residence nearly three weeks ago spinning his-self a six foot diameter main web  :working: sandwiched front and back by seemingly :naughty: haphazardly strewn threads anchored between a Dogwood above, and two Azalea bushes below, about twenty feet in front of my house. Pretty thorough and now that the work is done he just sits...and waits :aarg: :aarg:

I took some freehand shots as the sun was going down today. From the tip of one front leg to the tip of one back leg is an easy three inches plus. Never seen one like him before :sly: Flying roaches can take a hike :villagers: but this guy is cool :grinyes: :smokin:

Gotta love mother nature! Had a country property (recently sold and miss it) that was fantastic for the unknown in the insect world if your from the city! Man were we impressed with the insect world. Great pics! thx for posting.

I found a huge Wolf spider's den in our front yard a couple days ago...I'll have to post some of the photos I caught of him as it's probably the biggest one I've seen around here.  Cool web and photos, Russ.

Why's that Who song stuck in my head now ?  :pullinghair:

I like spiders,  I figure if you have spiders, it means they're getting rid of the other insects.  By the look of yours, cats too !  As soon as the supply of insects goes down, he'll move on.

He's a big one,
